For the past 15 years, I have established an academic career looking at the intersection of health, public health and education for vulnerable populations, with over 80 peer-reviewed publications. I am Professor and Chief of Medicine-Pediatrics at UCLA and am board-certified in internal medicine, pediatrics and preventive medicine. My research areas of interest have included transitions of care for youth with special health care needs, mental health issues in children, developmental services and child health disparities. As a physician, researcher, and educator, I will connect the ATRP research team with higher education administrators, health systems, and other entities to facilitate recruitment and data collection efforts. I will guide the development of peer-reviewed manuscripts, policy reports, and presentations to diverse stakeholders.
